By the end of 2020, according to my calculation, I should be either on television or in a movie. -Shahveer Jafry
Times of Youth: Do tell us a little about yourself for those who may not know about you or your work.
Shahveer Jafry: Hello everyone. My name is Shahveer Jafry and I am an entertainer who makes videos on Facebook.
Times of Youth: Which projects of yours are you most proud of?
Shahveer Jafry: I am proud of most of the projects I upload. However, if I were to choose one, I would say the video titled “A tribute to team Pakistan” on my Facebook page is the project I am most proud of. It’s the project that I worked the hardest on. The filming, editing, and production took a total of four days worth of time.
Times of Youth: If you weren’t an entertainer, what would you rather be?
Shahveer Jafry: I would be a marketer working for a company.
Times of Youth: Has making fun of others ever backfired on you?
Shahveer Jafry: The subjects I chose for my videos are far from making fun of others. Even if I show some fun being made of specific individuals, I make sure that people take it in good humor.
Times of Youth: Who’s sense of humor have you admired the most in your life?
Shahveer Jafry: My father has always been someone I looked up to while growing up. I get my sense of humor from him completely!
Times of Youth: On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate yourself as an entertainer, honestly?
Shahveer Jafry: Rule of thumb for anyone to be successful is, believe in yourself before you ask others to believe in you. That being said, I think I’m a 10.
Times of Youth: Tell us one quote which you hold very dear to your heart.
Shahveer Jafry: “If you don’t give up, even defeat won’t be able to defeat you” – Imran Khan
Times of Youth: Is there any piece of advice which you wished someone would have given you at the start of your career? And what should it have been?
Shahveer Jafry: When I started off 2 years ago, I wasn’t consistent with my videos. I would make a video and just stop for a few months until I make another one again. I wish someone had told me that the secret to success is consistency.
Times of Youth: What makes your day? And what spoils it?
Shahveer Jafry: Although I’m very good with my mood and barely experience mood swings, if a video of mine is not doing great in reception, I feel sad throughout the day.
Times of Youth: In this fast-paced world, with all the craziness and workloads, how do you de-stress?
Shahveer Jafry: At the moment, I am studying part-time, working part-time and then making these videos for my awesome fans. I must admit, it is very stressful at times. What I do to de-stress is, I just lay down on my mother’s lap while she massages my scalp. It is the best feeling.
Times of Youth: Where do you see yourself in next 5 years?
Shahveer Jafry: By the end of 2020, according to my calculation, I should be either on television or in a movie.
Times of Youth: If you’d be given an opportunity to meet any one person in the world, who would it be? And why?
Shahveer Jafry: Without thinking twice I would say, Imran Khan. Khan has a personality like no one else. He is my all-time hero. I often tell my friends and family, whoever I am today is because of the man himself, Imran Khan. His leadership quotes and champion-like approach towards life motivated me to do what I like doing.
Times of Youth: Any message to your fans or followers via Times of Youth?
Shahveer Jafry: A lot of people don’t do what they like doing most of the time because they are too worried about what people would think. Believe me, once you get the thought of “what people would say/think” out of your head, there is nothing that you cannot do. Just stay consistent and believe in your self. You live for yourself, not for the “other people” that you’re so worried about!
Times of Youth: Do tell us how can fans contact you to share their comment/suggestions/feedback.
Shahveer Jafry: I am pretty good at replying back to my Facebook page. People can access my page through this link www.facebook.com/shahveerjay.
