Malik Fahim Ayaz | Interview

Times of Youth: For those who don’t know about you and your work, can you tell us a little about yourself?

Malik Fahim Ayaz: Hello I am Malik Fahim Ayaz from Islamabad, Pakistan. Basically, I am a finance professional currently working in the Finance department of one of the Top Ranking Universities of Pakistan. Along with this, I have also stepped into the field of photography and taken it as my second profession. My interests include nature, sightseeing, travelling/camping, swimming and cricket. Apart from all this, I like to spend quality time with friends and family.

Times of Youth: What do you want your viewers to take away from your work?

Malik Fahim Ayaz: My work not only represents me but also my country. I would like my viewers to take the message of “peace and harmony” from my work. And make this world a better place to live.

Times of Youth: Who are some of your favorite classic photographers, and how did they influence you?

Malik Fahim Ayaz: Watching beautiful pictures of birds always inspired me to get hold of a camera and take their snaps. Photographers from Pakistan like M. Asif Sherazi, M. Azhar Hafeez, Irfan Ahson, Atif Saeed, Irtiza Bukhari, Mehdi Bukhari and Razaq Vance are my inspiration. The hard work and effort put by them in their work inspires me.

Times of Youth: What are some tips/advice you would give to yourself if you started photography all over again?

Malik Fahim Ayaz: It’s not the camera what matters, it’s the person behind it who does.

Times of Youth: What is one question nobody has ever asked you— that you wish they asked you?

Malik Fahim Ayaz: No body ever asked how much effort and time is put into capturing a photograph.
