I am from a small beautiful town, Siddapur, which lies in Karnataka, India and was fascinated by colours since my childhood, but concentrated on art only after my graduation.
I am a self taught artist and studied the old masters’ works for years and tried most of the mediums from stump powder to water colour, acrylic, poster colour, oil, etc. and later concentrated on portraits which are too challenging and my favorite. I love to work with oil paints as it has its own charm, glaze depth and long lasting quality. My whole life is dedicated to art; I like all forms of art, but I love to do realistic works more, as they give me immense joy and satisfaction. I am grateful to my parents because of whose support today I am an artist.
All these years I have done commission paintings for local people, dignitaries and many organisations and institutions.
Many exhibitions of my works were held by the cultural and social organisations [state and national level] and I was felicitated by them.
In 1983, I had done commission paintings for a big national level function [paintings were of lifesize portraits of our national heroes] which was inaugurated by our then PM, Late Mr. Morarji Desai, and I was felicitated there. Luckily I had the privilege of meeting some great artists of our nation like S. M. Pandit, who encouraged me a lot. Presently, I have plans to do some works [maybe mythological] which are too popular here, and which give the the massage of love, peace and harmony to mankind.
My message to the youth today as an artist is- Art can make this world a better place. Its because it has the mesmerising power and impact on the minds of the people of all ages, cast colour, creed and nationality. So make this planet beautiful and jubilant with art by mastering it with concentration, dedication and hard work.
